What To Expect
The course is geared for adults interested in learning the basics of sailing. It is appropriate for those who have never sailed or had some prior sailing experience and would like to improve their skills.
Students will learn the points of sail, nomenclature, rigging, knots, departing/returning to the dock,
rules of the road and boating safety.
The course includes classroom instruction and hands on sailing experience.
• Instruction takes place on 18ft lnterlake's. This is an active sailboat that requires some agility and
the ability to move quickly.
• Each boat will have two students along with the support of a qualified adult instructor.
• The goal of the course is to learn the basics of sailing through hands on experience.
• You will receive a book covering the sailing terms and concepts.
• You need a US Coast Guard approved lifejacket and will be required to wear it on the water.
